Massage therapy is a complementary healing modality that offers relaxation, introspection and health enhancement.
Throughout life, we may be exposed to toxins, trauma or thoughts that don’t serve our highest good and our bodies react with stress, pain or illness. Yet our bodies know how to achieve optimal health.
Massage therapy is one step toward awakening our bodies to optimal health. Massage therapists are facilitators of healing and recognize that the recipient is the source of his or her own healing.
Becoming aware of our bodies and our habits of thought and action, we see where we can take steps toward a healthier life. As a result, massage recipients gain confidence, resolve and self-esteem.
Beginning to witness ourselves without judgment, we see new ways of being in the world. We wake up, and rejoice in seeing the world anew.
"Since everything is but an apparition, perfect in being what it is, having nothing to do with good or bad, acceptance or rejection, one may well burst out in laughter."

Health maintenance is supported with massage that mobilizes the parasympathetic nervous system (relaxation response) and improves circulatory, lymph and immune function. Reduced stress allows our body and mind to recover and improves our outlook on life.
Tight muscles can constrict the nerves that run throughout our tissue and cause headaches, chronic pain, fatigue and postural disturbances. Strong, skilled pressure applied to myofascial trigger points and adhered tissue (knots) can relieve the discomfort of constriction.
Stretching and movement from the Thai Yoga Massage and Shiatsu traditions loosens tight joints, muscles and fascia. Body movement teaches our body to stop holding tension and can alleviate nerve pain and irritation. Movements include rhythmic rocking, myofascial stretching, joint mobilization and acupressure.

Stones, in many traditions, are said to be alive. They are referred to as Grandmothers and Grandfathers, the old wise ones who have spent many years on the Earth. They have persevered, standing hard and firm. They have surrendered, melting away into sand, then dust, then air particles floating on a breeze.
Stones silently witness without judgment. Stones turn wounds into wisdom. Stones provide shelter, tools and beauty. They endure searing heat and freezing cold. Stones warm us. Stones cool us. Stones can cut. Stones can soothe.
Living Stones are all around us, once we learn how to look.
"Once the door of awareness has been opened, you cannot close it."
